Ellieann 3
Carpentry Level 2

Ellieann MacLeod

My grandad made furniture for a living and I’ve always been interested in how things are made. I’ve also never gone with stereotypes and it doesn’t bother me that I am the only girl studying Carpentry in my class at College.

I enjoyed wood work at school and it’s been amazing to be able to focus on it full-time here at College. It’s exciting to think about what you can make once you master the basic skills. Our tutors are really supportive and you can email them outside of lessons if you have any questions or problems.

I’ve had some work experience with a local Handyman, helping him with jobs such as grouting and watching him take up some flooring. I’m looking forward to moving on to the Level 3 course after this to gain more knowledge. I want to eventually follow in my grandad’s footsteps and make furniture for a living.
